Foursquare, the location sharing social network had a complete make over today.
The app’s core feature, checking-in, was recently moved to its new now app, Swarm (which is good by the way). Now after that the check-in feature is out of the main app. Foursquare is focusing on local search and recommendations.
The best thing about it is that you can finally search for places, read tips, and write reviews in no time. The app suggest locations based on your recent check-in history and your chosen tastes.
The app got a complete overhaul. Now when you launch the app, you won’t see a check-in button. You’ll be greeted with some suggestions based on your location and tastes. Instead of badges. The app now awards with expertise points for each type of place you write a tip about. As you can see, I’m close to earning the expertise medal for Burgers.
The new Foursquare is really good, and I can’t wait to see what’s coming in future updates.
